A young engineer Aydin comes back to his hometown after years of education as a mining engineer in London. Selami, the owner of a local wood company, paid for Aydin's tuition and expenses. Selami has been the employer of Aydin's father in the past and he acts like an elder brother for Aydin, offers him to stay in his house. Aydin starts to work as the chief engineer in one of the mining companies. From the first day onwards Aydin opposes the mining practices imposed by Rahmi Bey, the owner of the company. He orders to stop mining and deals with the wood sellers who sell low-quality wood used to support the thrusts in the mines.

The year is 1945, months prior to Japan's ultimate defeat in WW2, and military lieutenant Sugawa is sent on a critical mission to deliver micro-fiche war plans to Tokyo from his base in Malaysia. But while flying over Chinese waters his plane is shot down and he is taken aboard a ship bound for Shanghai to deliver its merchandise - a ship filled with Female Slaves kidnapped from Japan. Will he abandon the women to pursue his main objective? Or will he fight foes, spies and pirates to save these women against all odds?

Early on, Ugo Ulive, with his short film Como el Uruguay no hay (1960), seeks to raise awareness and involve the viewer in political action and its radical transformation. Through a collage of animations, archival footage and a counterpoint sound montage, Ulive attacks traditional left-wing and right-wing politics and exposes the contradictions of a pillar of national identity: Uruguay's famous democracy. Note that we are in 1960 and while the voice over presents Montevideo as "a small agitated city", the images show a tense scenario with social protests and a politicized urban space with the presence of mounted police.
